Biography

Will Green was appointed Head of Task Force Kindred in August 2023, where he is responsible for coordinating the gifting of UK military aid to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) at pace. He is also deputy director of Task Force Hirst, leading the work to create greater UK-Ukraine industrial cooperation as part of a long-term partnership on military capability.

Prior to this, he led the Defence Innovation Unit for over three years, driving the delivery of the Defence Innovation Initiative and overseeing the Defence Innovation Fund. Exploiting the lessons from the early years of the initiative, Will brought together colleagues from across the Defence sector to deliver the R&D proposition that is currently being implemented. During this time, he also volunteered for 6 months as Cheif of Staff to the Covid Task Force.

Will has spent the majority of his career in the MOD, undertaking a diverse range of roles covering S&T, HR, Programme Management, Operational Policy, a tour as Policy Advisor in Afghanistan and a sabbatical in industry. Leading high-performance teams to develop and implement innovative approaches to drive delivery has been a common thread throughout these posts.
