The\u00a0secure facility outside Midleton is\u00a0normally closed to be public,\u00a0but\u00a0will be hosting\u00a0the launch as part of\u00a0an art exhibit\u00a0addressing the challenging issue of space waste.\u00a0A\u00a0limited number of tours of the NSC will\u00a0also\u00a0be available to visitors.\u00a0<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The exhibition is the culmination of\u00a0Ireland\u2019s\u00a0first Space Waste Residency, hosted by NSC neighbour <strong>Greywood Arts<\/strong> and funded by Cork County Council.\u00a0The selected<\/span><strong><span>\u00a0Artist in Residence,\u00a0Nicklas Lundberg<\/span><\/strong><span>,\u00a0was chosen from almost 100\u00a0international\u00a0applicants.\u00a0The Swedish\u00a0sculptor\u00a0has worked in Greywood Arts\u2019 studios through\u00a0the month of November, utilising\u00a0space junk found at the NSC together with\u00a0sounds captured inside the site\u2019s iconic\u00a032-meter\u00a0dish. The result is an interactive\u00a0installation\u00a0that responds sonically to the proximity of the viewer, which visitors will be able to\u00a0interact with.<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span>The exhibition will also feature work from\u00a0110\u00a0local students.
