This shift has democratized the sector, allowing SMEs and startups to participate, and enabling regions like Catalonia to create diverse business models and gain substantial returns on investment.<\/p>\n The Barcelona Chamber of Commerce has embraced this shift, incorporating the space sector into its Catalonia 30\/40 strategy to promote high-value economies and stimulate sectors like telecommunications, mobility, environmental surveillance, and civil protection.<\/p>\n In February 2020, the Chamber hosted the first New Space Economy Day, bringing together over 200 Catalan entrepreneurs and organizations to discuss sector trends.
