So, on 9 \u2013 10 December, take one of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euspa.europa.eu\/newsroom\/news\/galileo-enabled-receivers-installed-prague-tramways\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Prague\u2019s Galileo-enabled trams<\/a> and make your way over to EUSPA Headquarters for our annual Open Days!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter two years of virtual and outdoor events, we are thrilled to be able to once again open our doors to the public,\u201d says EUSPA Executive Director Rodrigo da Costa. \u201cA highlight on our agenda, the Open Days event is a unique opportunity for EU citizens to explore the Agency, learn about our mission and discover the many benefits of the EU Space Programme.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With the theme \u2018See, Navigate, Communicate\u2019, this year\u2019s edition shines the spotlight on how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euspa.europa.eu\/european-space\/galileo\/What-Galileo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Galileo<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euspa.europa.eu\/european-space\/egnos\/what-egnos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EGNOS<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euspa.europa.eu\/european-space\/copernicus\/what-copernicus\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Copernicus<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euspa.europa.eu\/european-space\/govsatcom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">GOVSATCOM<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euspa.europa.eu\/european-space\/space-situational-awareness\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Space Situational Awareness<\/a> all bring added value to our everyday lives. \u201cPut these programmes together as one EU Space Programme and you unleash an array of synergies and possibilities, all of which have a powerful impact on society and the planet,\u201d adds da Costa.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Coming on the heels of the United Nations Climate Change Conference, Open Days will have a particular focus on how EU Space contributes to fighting climate change and achieving such European goals as the Green Deal. During the event visitors can learn how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euspa.europa.eu\/european-space\/eu-space-programme\/what-gnss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">EGNSS<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euspa.europa.eu\/european-space\/eu-space-programme\/what-earth-observation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Earth Observation<\/a> support everything from selecting the best location for building renewable energy infrastructure, implementing the most fuel-efficient flight paths, monitoring CO2 emissions, designing efficient and autonomous transportation networks and increasing agricultural yields to sustainably feed a growing population.<\/p>\n<h3>Immersive experiences and virtual reality games<\/h3>\n<p>As EUSPA works to reduce its own footprint by limiting paper use and waste, the event will present information largely through digital exhibits. Our immersive Copernicus experience invites visitors to walk through a collage of colourful Earth Observation images taken from around the world.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The two-day event will also feature fun learning opportunities, exciting seminars, a hands-on space workshop and special activities for children, along with a number of competitions and prizes. And did we mention space simulators and virtual reality games?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether it be determining how to achieve the world\u2019s climate goals, respond to natural disasters, or build the smart cities and mobility systems of tomorrow, as these exhibits and presentations make clear, the answer can often be found in space,\u201d says da Costa.<\/p>\n<p>For those interested in learning about a possible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euspa.europa.eu\/about\/careers-euspa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">career in space<\/a> or about EUSPA\u2019s various funding and support initiatives for entrepreneurs and businesses, be sure mark your calendar for 9-10 December. EUSPA experts will be giving talks and be available to answer your questions throughout the day.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>A lot to celebrate!\u00a0<\/h3>\n<p>This year\u2019s event coincides with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euspa.europa.eu\/newsroom\/news\/czech-eu-presidency-puts-space-centre-its-security-priority\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.euspa.europa.eu\/newsroom\/news\/euspa-headquarters-celebrates-10-years-prague\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">10th anniversary of EUSPA headquarters calling Prague home<\/a>.
