NEREUS organised on the 15 May, 11-12.30 (Brussels time), the 17th infosession on education\/training in the space sector will focus on new master studies\/ educational programmes based on the current trends at a European level.<\/p>\n

The session was introduced and moderated by Margarita Chrysaki<\/strong>, NEREUS Communication & Project Officer, who welcomed participants and outlined the objectives of the series: to highlight innovative practices, foster collaboration, and encourage youth involvement in the European space ecosystem.<\/p>\n

Geoinformation Education: New Study Programme<\/h3>\n

Valerio Tramutoli, Professor at the University of Basilicata<\/a>, presented a new geoinformation study and training programme<\/strong>, designed to address the growing need for skilled professionals in satellite data analysis and Earth observation. He emphasized the programme\u2019s interdisciplinary structure and its integration of hands-on technical training with theoretical foundations, preparing students to contribute to disaster risk management, climate monitoring, and urban planning.<\/p>\n

New Trends in Space Law<\/h3>\n

EDr\u00aa. Mar\u00eda del Carmen Mu\u00f1oz Rodr\u00edguez of the Universidad de Ja\u00e9n<\/a> offered a comprehensive overview of emerging trends in Space Law<\/strong>, touching upon legal challenges posed by mega-constellations, space traffic management, and space resource utilization. Her presentation stressed the urgent need to adapt legal frameworks to reflect technological advances and protect outer space as a shared domain, reinforcing the role of legal education in the space sector.<\/p>\n

Spotlight on Regional Industry Initiatives<\/h3>\n

Federico Zoppas, President of the Veneto Aerospace Cluster AIR<\/a>, introduced the upcoming Veneto Space Meetings<\/strong>, an event aiming to connect regional innovation hubs with international partners. He underlined the importance of regional clusters in nurturing talent, supporting SMEs, and promoting cross-sectoral dialogue, inviting stakeholders to participate and collaborate on future initiatives.<\/p>\n

Closing the session, Filip Vesely<\/strong>, a young software engineer at Ouroboro Soft<\/strong>, shared his journey from student to space professional. His testimony served as an inspiring example for aspiring students and a reminder of the sector\u2019s potential to empower youth.<\/p>\n
