Conference: Connecting Northern Businesses to retain military advantage – Register your interest

The latest in the series of collaborative events jointly organised by the Danish Defence & Security Industries Association (DI); the Association of Finnish Defence and Aerospace Industries (PIA); the Swedish Security and Defence Industry Association (SOFF); and the UK’s ADS Group, this conference comes at a vitally important strategic time for Northern Europe, with the accession of Finland and Sweden into the NATO alliance, when collaboration between companies from these nations is becoming increasingly vital.

Previous such joint, collaborative events have taken place in Malmo (Sweden) in September 2019 and London (UK) in September 2022, and have sought to facilitate networking between companies from the four nations, with a view to establishing closer collaboration between them.

This year, there is a unique possibility to also attend the celebrations of the 75th Anniversary of the creation of NATO, including a large, interactive and public exhibition for the Armed Forces and the Defence Industry (click here for the exhibition details).

Market Insight

Denmark is looking to spend c.US$19.2bn (or £17.7bn) on defence between 2024 and 2033, whilst Finland is seeking to increase its defence budget for 2024 to US$6.58bn (or £5.29bn), Sweden will be spending US$11.83bn (£9.37bn) in 2024 and the UK will be spending £51.7bn (or US$62.26bn) in 2024/25. The scope for industrial collaboration between the four nations is very considerable, as all of them seek to strengthen their national security capabilities over the coming years, especially with regard to a significantly heightened national awareness of the fundamental need for these to be enhanced.

Future Major Acquisitions within the Armed Forces in Denmark, Finland, Sweden and the UK

There will also be time set aside for networking and business-to-business meetings between the attendees.
